Microsoft announced on Wednesday that it was acquiring CloudKnox, a start-up whose software is helping companies reduce access to their cloud resources. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The move marks another step Microsoft is taking to grow its security business while working to keep Windows and its other products secure.

In January, Microsoft announced that it had generated over $ 10 billion in security revenue in the past 12 months, more than 40% more than last year, which means it is growing faster than most other product areas. Just last week, Microsoft announced the acquisition of another security company, RiskIQ, that can detect threats across a company’s IT footprint.
