Microsoft fixed the remaining issues This prevented some Windows 10 users from upgrading to Windows 10 2004 and 20H2.
The last remaining issues were due to Conexant or Synaptics audio drivers which resulted in Windows 10 users receiving a stop error with a blue screen that triggered an automatic rollback to an older version of Windows 10.
Microsoft says if you have had this problem in the past it is safe to try again now and say:
“In this case, you should try again to update to Windows 10, version 2004 or Windows 10, version 20H2.”
However, Microsoft notes that if you are affected by the problem, it could take 48 hours before Microsoft offers you the upgrade again. It may be advisable to wait a few days before trying again.
If you don’t want to wait, you can always use that Media creation tool update on your own schedule.
