Microsoft has reached an agreement to acquire RiskIQ, a specialist in global threat intelligence and attack surface management.

Hopefully the deal will help the company’s customers gain a broader view of the global threats to their businesses, better understand vulnerable internet-based assets, and produce world-class threat intelligence.

As companies pursue digital transformation and adopt the concept of Zero Trust, their applications, infrastructure and even IoT applications are increasingly running across multiple clouds and hybrid cloud environments, according to Microsoft.

Indeed, the Internet is becoming their new network, and it becomes increasingly important to understand the full extent of their resources in order to reduce their surface area.
