January 12 (Reuters) – Microsoft Corp. (MSFT.O) an important Apple Inc. set (AAPL.O) Engineer developing his own chips for his servers, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing people with expertise.
The software giant hired chip industry veteran Mike Filippo, who worked for Apple for over two years. the report said.
Microsoft is working on internal processors for the servers that run its cloud computing services and the Surface line of personal computers. a source told Reuters in December 2020.

The cloud computing heavyweight relies heavily on Intel and Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD.O) to provide chips for its Azure cloud computing services and Surface PCs.
