Microsoft enters into AI agreement with Australian unions

Microsoft has signed an Australian-first agreement with the country’s largest union group to ensure workers have more of a say in the rollout of artificial intelligence.

Microsoft announced the framework agreement with the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) on Thursday, setting out a series of commitments on how it will support workers through the adoption of AI tools and services.

The ACTU consists of 38 affiliated unions, collectively representing approximately 1.8 million workers.

The agreement with Microsoft includes three core priorities: sharing information and learning, including employee voice in technical development, and collaborating on public policy and skills.
