Microsoft has revealed Cloud pc, its new PC-as-a-Service offering that enables business users to stream a Windows desktop to any of their devices, from anywhere.
Billed as “a new way to experience Windows 10 or Windows 11”, Virtualization service could open a multitude of new business opportunities from a cost, administrative and productivity perspective.
Instead of hosting the operating system and applications locally and consuming both storage and computing resources, employees with cloud PCs can stream their apps, data and settings to all of their devices – including those running on macOS, Linux or Android.
From an IT manager’s point of view, Cloud PC simplifies deployment and patch management while reducing hardware performance requirements.
