Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman has revealed that his mission is to make the company “self-sufficient” in developing frontier artificial intelligence (AI) models. This will help the software giant in building “an absolutely world-class superintelligence team,” he said. Speaking on the “Moonshots with Peter Diamandis” podcast, Suleyman claimed: “We’re absolutely pushing for the frontier. We want to build the best superintelligence and the safest superintelligence models in the world.” Last month, Suleyman said his team is “trying to build a humanist superintelligence” aligned with human interests.The company is among multiple tech companies racing toward artificial general intelligence (AGI), or superintelligence, and industry leaders have been transparent about the massive costs involved. Artificial general intelligence, also known as AGI, is a definition of AI systems that are capable of doing most tasks at human-level capability. Superintelligence is an extension of AGI.
