Later on, Microsoft said on Twitter that “we rolled back recent changes that were made in the environment and some customers are reporting that impact has been mitigated for SP152610 and EX152471.

The EX152471 error relates to users getting repeated credential prompts and being unable to log in with the Outlook client. This problem lasted around twelve hours before the roll back of changes to the environment.

Microsoft is still investigating the source of the problem. On October 26, users reported that they were unable to sign in to the Microsoft Teams Desktop client, but whether or not that issue is related to the problems today isn't clear.

Users who continue to have problems are asked to contact Microsoft support for assistance.

Outage notifications for Microsoft 365 along with status updates are displayed in the Admin Centre, and some users complained that that meant as they do not have sufficient rights to the portal, they were unable to receive news of service restoration.
