Nutanix has appointed Michael Alp as managing director for A/NZ bringing 35 years’ enterprise IT experience.
Alp joins Nutanix from Cohesity where he led the vendor’s A/NZ business as its managing director.
Previously, he held senior executive roles across the region at Pure Storage, Polycom, and EMC.
Based in Sydney, Alp’s responsibilities will include developing Nutanix’s business strategy for A/NZ and shaping strategic networks and partnerships across the two countries.
“Australia and New Zealand are extremely mature cloud markets, having been early adopters of the technology,” Alp said.
“Cloud approaches have come of age here and organisations are increasingly shifting from ‘cloud-first’ to hybrid multicloud strategies because they need to be able to run their applications and data everywhere.”
Alp said this shifting dynamic, along with uncertainty in the market from recent acquisition activity, attracted him to Nutanix.
“I see the Nutanix Cloud Platform as the best solution for the most pressing business challenges,” Alp said.
“Whether an organisation is navigating the shift to hybrid multicloud, seeking to de-risk their organisation following the acquisition of their previous infrastructure vendor, or exploring how AI fits into their business, Nutanix should be at the heart of all these discussions.”
Aaron White, General Manager and Vice President, Nutanix APJ, said: “After more than three decades leading some of the most important technology companies in A/NZ, Michael has the skills, relationships, and insights to take Nutanix to the next level across Australia and New Zealand.”
