December 9 (Reuters) – Meta Platforms Inc (FB.O) The Novi cryptocurrency wallet will allow users to send and receive money through the messaging app of social media giant WhatsApp.
The pilot program is open to a limited number of people in the United States, Novi boss Stephane Kasriel said in a tweet Wednesday late.
Using Novi doesn’t change the privacy of personal WhatsApp messages and calls, he said.
Meta Platforms, formerly Facebook, has been working on the wallet app for several months while reducing its global plans to launch a digital currency called Diem for regulatory reasons.
