Met Office transfers to new supercomputer to boost UK forecast accuracy

The Met Office has transferred to a new supercomputer, which could make 14-day forecasts nearly as accurate as seven-day forecasts.

Extreme weather events can also be predicted further in advance using the new technology, it said.
