(Reuters) – Huawei’s chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou’s attorneys argued in court on Tuesday to leave home without the security detail that has been a condition of her bail since she was released after she was arrested in December 2018.
Meng’s husband, Liu Xiaozong, made an affidavit quoting the negative impact his wife’s detention conditions had on her and her family.
Two years ago, 48-year-old Meng was arrested at Vancouver International Airport by Canadian authorities acting on a US arrest warrant. She is being charged with bank fraud in the US for misleading HSBC bank for misleading Huawei dealings in Iran, thereby breaking US sanctions.
She said she was innocent and was fighting extradition.
