Casio’s Moflin is a new entry in the slowly growing field of AI-powered companion robots. Selling for about $429, it uses emotional recognition to create the impression of a small creature that responds to touch, sound and presence. Casio positions it as a smart companion that develops a unique personality over several weeks. I’ve only been living with Moflin for a week, which isn’t enough time to see this development, so I’m relying on reports from reviewers who have spent longer with the device.
