Mass Effect Legendary Edition changes one of the longest standing problems with the franchise: Tali’s face.
There may be mass effects spoilers ahead.
Original party member Tali’Zorah is a quarian whose face was one of the most popular online discussion topics about Mass Effect. Her face is hidden throughout the series because she has to wear a suit that will protect her from disease.
Tali’s face was finally shown at the end of Mass Effect 3 to those who romanized the character via a picture in Shepard’s cabin. Their design was based on Photoshop from a human stick model – something that annoyed some fans of the character.
Now, nine years after Mass Effect 3 came out, BioWare has replaced Photoshop with a new, unique face of developer development.
Redditor Maxgoods uploaded a picture of this new face on the Mass Effect Sub::
Maxgoods even made a video showing the new face:
This was subsequently made by the Mass Effect modder Orikon (from Priority: Earth overhaul Fame):
NEW: Tali’s cabin photo has been changed in the Legendary Edition. Many Thanks @ Macwalterslives!

Tali still has a human-looking face (with the exception of the white eyes) which I think will disappoint some who were hoping for a stranger look. Tali is an alien after all! But it’s certainly an improvement over the photo model that came with the original Mass Effect 3.
If you’re wondering how players are getting to the end of Mass Effect 3 so quickly, Maxgoods downloaded a Mass Effect 3 savegame After the Tali romance is complete, it will be pasted into the correct folder on the PC (MyDocuments BioWare Mass Effect Legendary Edition Save ME3) and then the last save game will be loaded.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is only a day old, but players are already finding subtle changes that BioWare hadn’t announced before launch. It will be fun to find out what else has been tweaked in the coming weeks.
