Lunar Lake: The Latest Intel Processor

Intel’s upcoming Lunar Lake “Core Ultra 200V” CPU lineup has been leaked ahead of its launch, revealing at least nine different SKUs. The leak, brought to light by videocardz, showcases the specifications of these CPUs built for thin and light platforms like laptops, mini PCs, and portable gaming devices. Multiple tech showcases at events like Computex 2024 have already displayed devices powered by Lunar Lake processors, ranging from laptops to wearables. One such example is MSI, which exhibited Moon Lake Laptops and Next-gen Claw 8 AI+ “A2VM” gaming handheld.

The Lunar Lake CPUs will be based on a monolithic tile-based design using the TSMC N3B and TSMC N6 process nodes, boasting up to 4 Lion Cove P-Cores, 4 Skymont E-Cores, and a new NPU4 AI engine delivering up to 48 TOPS. These CPUs will also introduce LPDDR5x memory options, with capacities of 16GB and 32GB integrated into the package. Additionally, Lunar Lake CPUs will eliminate the Hyper-Threading feature in favor of 8 cores and 8 threads in flagship configurations.

Graphics-wise, the Lunar Lake “Core Ultra 200V” CPUs will offer up to 8 up to 5.1 GHz and 2.05 GHz GPU speeds, providing 67 TOPS of AI performance. The platform as a whole is rated at 120 TOPS. The flagship SKU, the Intel Core Ultra 9 288V, will include 32 GB of memory and an Arc A140V iGPU with 8 Xe2 cores. The other SKUs in the lineup will vary in terms of clock speeds and memory configurations.

Intel anticipates releasing the Lunar Lake “Core Ultra 200V” CPUs in September, just in time for the holiday season. The lineup is expected to receive the Microsoft Copilot+ feature update after launch and will compete with other offerings in the market, such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X and AMD’s Strix Point chips. The leaked SKUs provide a glimpse into the diverse range of options that will be available to consumers seeking power-efficient and high-performance computing solutions.
