Twitter is apparently trying to do its part to revive the local news, an important institution that seems to be on its last breath.

The social media giant will launch an advertising and marketing campaign, in part aimed at in promoting local journalists and their work, according to a report by Axios. Twitter has since confirmed the campaign in an email to Mashable.
