LG, Nvidia expand alliance in robots, AI factories and mobility – UPI.com

Aug. 14 (Asia Today) — LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang agreed to expand cooperation in humanoid robots, artificial intelligence factories and mobility as the two companies seek a leading role in the emerging physical AI market.

Koo and Huang signed a memorandum of understanding Thursday at Nvidia’s headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif., LG Group said Friday.

The meeting came two months after the two executives first met at LG Twin Towers in Seoul during Huang’s June visit to South Korea.

LG said the companies will cooperate in three major areas – robotics, AI factories and mobility – using Nvidia’s advanced computing technologies and platforms.

LG plans to accelerate development of a next-generation bipedal humanoid robot and a high-performance computing platform for AI-defined vehicles.

“As cooperation between the two companies accelerates, the tasks we need to pursue together in AI factories, physical AI and mobility have become clear,” Koo said.

“We will accelerate the spread of AI by establishing industry-leading reference projects.”
