Laura Freeman Named Assistant Director of Virginia Tech National Security…


Laura Freeman was named first associate director of the Virginia Tech National Security Institute. As Associate Director, Freeman will assist Eric Paterson, the Institute’s Executive Director, in continuing the Institute’s growth trajectory and maximizing its impact on the university and the country.

“A data scientist with extensive defense and intelligence experience, Laura Freeman brings significant technical expertise to the institute’s executive team,” said Paterson. “Dr. Freeman is an immediate asset as we continue to grow the Institute and work across campuses. I am pleased that with our Arlington and Blacksburg facilities, we have a leadership team that effectively supports the University and our staff, students and sponsors at both locations can support.”
