A student from John W. Bonner Elementary School in Las Vegas, Ruby Wang, has been selected as one of the 55 state and territory winners in the 16th annual Doodle for Google contest. The contest asked K-12 students to imagine their wish for the next 25 years through their artwork. Wang’s submission, titled ‘Swimming and Flying Houses’, envisions a future where rising sea levels result in people living in fish-shaped houses under the sea or bird-shaped houses in the air, allowing them to travel freely. Voting is now open for the public to help choose one of five national finalists, who will then compete to become the national winner.
