LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — City leaders in LaPorte are speaking up about a potential annexation leading to a second Microsoft Data center campus in the area.
Community members in LaPorte are also voicing their support and concerns about the city’s plan to annex land in Pleasant Township.
City leaders say the spot in Pleasant Township has been in discussions for quite some time.
“Microsoft’s already under construction on their first project here in LaPorte, and we’ve had such a good experience with them, we’d love to see the project grow in size and scope,” said La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership Executive Director Bert Cook.
Cook says the public feedback session during Monday’s city council meeting helps the city see where the public stands on another potential data center in Laporte.
