KPMG partner in Oz turned to AI to pass an exam on…AI

AIpocolypse A partner at accounting and consulting giant KPMG in Australia was fined AU$10,000 ($7,084/£5,195) after using AI to pass an internal training course on… AI.

Faced with questions about the use of AI, the unnamed partner uploaded training materials to an AI platform to generate its response, according to a report in the FT.

The partner was just one of more than two dozen employees denounced for using AI tools in internal audits, the consulting giant confirmed.

The unnamed KPMG partner’s attempt to use AI in an internal test was first reported by the Australian Financial Review and raised in an Australian Senate inquiry into governance.
