More than two dozen KPMG Australia employees have used artificial intelligence to cheat on internal audits since July, including a partner who was fined more than $10,000 for using the technology in a training course on AI.
The big four accounting firms have improved their AI fraud detection processes after introducing policies and additional monitoring measures between 2016 and 2020 to combat widespread fraud in internal testing.
