The update brings DTS digital surround sound to the Sonos Arc, Beam (Gen 2), Beam (Gen 1), Playbar, Playbase, and amp, gives users an alternative to Dolby Digital and another way to make movies and TV shows sound more immersive.
According to Sonos, this means the Move can last up to 30 days of battery life when turned off, while the smaller Roam does so for a whopping 70 days. If you’ve turned on power saving mode, you’ll need to turn both of them on Bluetooth speaker using their physical on / off buttons before you can listen to music instead of putting them in a “sleep mode” – but that’s a small price to pay for possibly months of playback if you’re a rare user.
Finally, the new update gives users the ability to adjust the EQ settings on their Sonos wireless speakers from the Now Playing screen in the S2 app. That means you can adjust the treble, bass, and volume by tapping the volume slider and pressing the settings button on the right side of the screen.
This feature is currently only available for iOS, but Sonos says Android support will be available in the coming months.
What Sonos Black Friday deals should I look out for?
If you’re considering buying a Sonos speaker on Black Friday sale, these new updates might be enough to convince you to part with your cash.
We’re seeing a lot of early Black Friday deals as retailers start increasing discounts before sales, but unfortunately Sonos Black Friday deals have been very few and far between.
Recently Sonos started 20% discount on accessories in the UK – Think tote bags and stands for speakers – but it looks like deals on the brand’s speakers and soundbars won’t start coming through until the official Black Friday on November 26th. Unfortunately, Sonos doesn’t offer the same discount yet in the US.
It’s still worth keeping an eye out for Black Friday deals and Sonos deals Cyber Monday, although. In last year’s sales, the Sonos Move was cut by $ 100 / £ 100, as well as major price cuts on the Sonos Beam and Sub.
In fact, the first generation Sonos Beam is one of those speakers we’ll be paying close attention to as it was recently usurped by a newer model. the Sonos One is likely to be scaled down too, as it was released back in 2017 – and might need an upgrade in the near future.
In any case, Black Friday Sonos deals include most of the company’s speakers, soundbars, subwoofers, and amplifiers. too good to be true “discounts.
the Company recently raised prices most of its speakers and soundbars, so it’s worth checking out previous prices. For example, a $ 100 / £ 100 discount on the Sonos Arc might seem like a bargain, but that would only bring the soundbar down to its original MSRP.
