FITCHBURG — Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School is to receive a grant from the Career Technical Initiative to fund training for the unemployed and underemployed.
According to a press release, the grant is worth $599,970 and will allow Monty Tech to expand its mission of providing adults with professional training and placement in high-demand fields.
“This funding is a huge step forward for both Monty Tech and the region. The programs made possible by this grant will have a significant impact on people’s lives, helping the unemployed or underemployed learn the skills necessary to be competitive in today’s job market,” said Sen. John Cronin, D-Lunenburg, in the press release. “I am confident that the funds awarded to Monty Tech will have a strong impact on our regional workforce.”
