JFrog has expanded its software supply chain platform with the launch of Shadow AI Detection. The aim is to help companies identify and manage risks associated with the unauthorized use of artificial intelligence models and APIs, known as Shadow AI.

Many developers and data science teams continue to use external AI resources, such as those offered by Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, bypassing core IT and security protocols. This has led to gaps in monitoring and governance – so-called blind spots – that can expose companies to security vulnerabilities, compliance violations and unauthorized data access.
