Friendship Collegiate Academy’s four-star defensive tackle Bryce Jenkins is set to announce his college decision on July 6. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder has taken official visits to Rutgers, South Carolina, Maryland, and Tennessee. Although initially planning to choose South Carolina, a personal situation has led Jenkins to consider staying close to home to play for Maryland. This decision mirrors that of cornerback Braydon Lee in the last recruiting cycle, who also chose to stay closer to home due to family reasons. According to the 247Sports Composite, Jenkins is ranked as the nation’s No. 228 player and No. 26 defensive lineman.
Jenkins attends the same high school as former five-star defensive end Dylan Stewart, who enrolled at South Carolina in January and has been a standout player since. Sources indicate that Stewart has the potential to make a significant impact as a true freshman, especially in stopping the run. While known for his pass-rushing abilities, Stewart is also skilled in playing the run and is expected to contribute as a three-down player for the Gamecocks.
Overall, both Bryce Jenkins and Dylan Stewart have promising futures ahead and are expected to make significant contributions to their respective college football programs.
