Friendship Collegiate Academy’s four-star defensive tackle Bryce Jenkins is set to make his college decision on July 6. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder has taken official visits to Rutgers, South Carolina, Maryland, and Tennessee. While initially planning to commit to the Gamecocks, a personal situation has caused Jenkins to reconsider, with signs pointing to him staying close to home to play at Maryland. This decision parallels Braydon Lee’s decommitment from South Carolina in the previous recruiting cycle due to family reasons. Jenkins is ranked 228th among players in the country and 26th among defensive linemen according to the 247Sports Composite.

Jenkins attends the same high school as former five-star defensive end Dylan Stewart, who enrolled at South Carolina in January. Sources rave about Stewart’s potential to have a significant impact as a true freshman, particularly in stopping the run. While Stewart is known for his pass-rushing abilities, he is also praised for his skills in run defense, positioning him to be a three-down player for the Gamecocks from the start.
