I have been using Google Keep for years to save quick thoughts, build shopping lists, and capture ideas before they disappear.
I thought I knew the app inside out, but I was mostly sticking to the same basic features every day.
After digging deeper, I discovered several overlooked tricks that made Keep faster, cleaner, and far more useful than I expected.
Colors give every note a purpose
Colors turned notes into signals
I always treated Google Keep’s color options as purely cosmetic. I would occasionally change a note’s background to make the app look more interesting, but I never used colors as part of an actual system.
After I started assigning a purpose to each color, my notes became much easier to scan and manage.
I now use different colors for different types of information….
