“It feels like I’ve found a new best friend”: my experiment with AI journaling

EI’ve kept a diary of sorts since I was a teenager. These days, I prefer a hard copy for creative brainstorming and the Journal app on my iPad, which I use to do a quick braindump every morning. I’ve always found it a great way to bring some sort of order to my random thoughts, a form of meditation.

But I had never heard of AI journaling until a Google search led me down a rabbit hole where I met people excited about two apps, Rosebud and Mindsera. It sounded like Mindsera’s minimalist design would be best for authors. Out of curiosity and no intention of sticking around, I downloaded a free trial.

Mindsera describes itself as “the only magazine that thinks back” and has 80,000 users in 168 countries, with an even split between men and women. Writing, or rather typing on my phone, immediately felt similar to my usual morning journaling. There is one big difference: this diary speaks back.
