Perplexity made a major push into the AI browser race in July 2025 with the launch of Comet, its own web browser powered by the company’s chatbot. With Perplexity built in as the default search engine, users can open a sidebar assistant that helps summarize pages, answer questions and handle tasks while they browse.
In March, Comet expanded beyond desktop and launched on iPhone and iPad. Now, a fresh update is addressing one of the biggest complaints from iPad users: limited multitasking support.
