Today, AWS has officially launched Amazon Q Apps, a feature of Amazon Q Business that was previously in public preview since April 2024. Amazon Q Apps allows users within an organization to easily create apps from their conversations with Amazon Q Business or by describing the app they want to build in their own words. This capability streamlines tasks, boosts productivity for individuals and teams, and allows for the creation, sharing, and customization of apps on business data. Users can publish apps to a library managed by administrators and share them with colleagues while ensuring secure sharing and compliance with data governance policies through inherited user permissions and access controls from Amazon Q Business.
Amazon Q Apps enhances the experience and collaboration for business users with new features. Customers now have the ability to integrate Amazon Q Apps into their preferred application tools and environments using APIs, making it easier to create and consume app results seamlessly. Application creators can also review the original creation message of their app to refine and improve new versions without starting from scratch, as well as select data sources to enhance the quality of results.
Both Amazon Q Business and Amazon Q Apps are now available in the Eastern US (N. Virginia) and Western US (Oregon) AWS Regions. For more detailed information, you can visit the Amazon Q Business page and read the AWS News Blog.
