Each pillar, including Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, and Sustainability, has been updated with new best practices and guidance.

The Operational Excellence Pillar, for example, has updated 30 best practices, incorporating observability and generative AI capabilities. The Security Pillar now includes 28 best practices with strong implementation guidance. The Reliability Pillar has updates on AWS Resilience Hub and Amazon Route 53. Performance Efficiency and Cost Optimization Pillars have also been enhanced with the latest guidance and resources.

The Sustainability Pillar, added in 2021, has 18 updated best practices focusing on sustainability aspects. The Framework guide now includes 105 best practices overall, updated in various languages. With this release, 95% of existing best practices have been updated, showing a dedication to evolving guidance. The updates cover operational excellence, security, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability.

Users can access these updates through the AWS Well-Architected Tool, which helps review workloads and adhere to the Framework guidance.
