Intel’s Lunar Lake CPUs are not experiencing any delays

Intel’s highly anticipated Moon Lake CPU launch is reportedly facing a delay, as per a report from Digitimes. Originally planned for June, chip shipments are now expected to arrive in September. Intel had initially announced the Lunar Lake processors to be available between July and September, in time for the holiday shopping season. However, Intel clarified that the chips will be available starting Q3 ’24, as noted at Computex.

While Intel insists that Lunar Lake is not delayed, the processors will still be arriving later than competitors like Qualcomm and AMD. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ryzen AI 300 CPU is set to be available in July, while Intel’s Lunar Lake will likely arrive in September, according to speculation.

Despite Intel’s brief mentions of the “radical low-power architecture” of Lunar Lake, detailed specifications and model numbers are still unknown. Performance comparisons have been made with Snapdragon X Elite and AMD’s next-gen CPUs, but more information is expected as the launch date approaches. Power consumption details, in particular, will be crucial for comparing Lunar Lake with the new Snapdragon X Elite in terms of efficiency.

Although specifics about Lunar Lake are scarce, some devices using these chips have already been announced, such as MSI’s upcoming Claw handheld with a Lunar Lake CPU. More information is expected to surface as the release date nears.
