Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake-S and Arrow Lake-HX CPUs are set to feature a unique cache structure compared to Lunar Lake CPUs, along with significantly higher AI TOPs than Raptor Lake. Leaked information reveals that these high-end CPUs will have 37 AI TOPs and up to 76MB of combined cache. The cache configuration of the Arrow Lake-S and Arrow Lake-HX CPUs is primarily based on the Lunar Lake CPUs, utilizing Lion Cove P and Skymont E cores. The differences lie in the optimization of power for the cores, particularly in the L2 and L3 caches.

For the Arrow Lake CPUs, the cache configuration includes 3MB L2 and 3MB L3 per Lion Cove P core, and 4MB L2 and 3MB L3 per Skymont E-Core cluster. This results in a combined cache pool of 76MB, which is higher than the previous Raptor Lake-S CPUs. Additionally, the AI capabilities of the Arrow Lake CPUs are set to improve significantly, with the GPU TOPS tripling to 9 TOPS and the CPU TOPS increasing by 87.5% to 15 TOPS. The NPU integrated into these chips will be rated at 13 TOPS, leading to a combined AI TOPS of 37.

The Intel Arrow Lake-S and Arrow Lake-HX CPUs are expected to be part of a new platform utilizing LGA 1851 (800 series motherboards) and high-end laptops. The Arrow Lake-S (K Series) line, along with the first Z890 boards, is anticipated to be released in October. Performance numbers based on ES2 samples have already been seen, indicating a promising outlook for these upcoming CPUs. Overall, these CPUs represent a significant advancement in Intel’s processor lineup, offering improved cache structures and AI capabilities compared to their predecessors.
