Intel is preparing to release its own dedicated gaming graphics cards based on the Xe2 “Battlemage” graphics architecture. This technology was initially introduced in the Core Ultra 200V “Lunar Lake-MX” processor as an integrated graphics processing unit (iGPU). Intel’s new lineup aims to expand its presence in the gaming graphics market for both laptops and desktops. The shipping documents revealed details about two models of the Arc “Battlemage” GPUs: the X3 and X4. These models feature 448 execution units spread across 56 Xe cores, totaling 7,168 unified shaders, a 75% increase in shader count compared to previous models. While the memory type and speed were not specified, the GPUs are expected to target 4K gaming performance with a 256-bit memory bus. Intel also aims to enhance capabilities such as ray tracing and AI-powered features to attract not only gamers but also creative professionals.
