Intel officially announces release date for next-generation Arrow Lake CPUs for desktop and laptops in Q4 2024.

Intel has unveiled its upcoming mobile-focused Lunar Lake CPUs and confirmed that its next-generation Arrow Lake-S, Arrow Lake-HX, and Arrow Lake-H processors for desktops and laptops will be released in Q4 2024.

The new high-performance Arrow Lake CPUs will be available for desktops in Arrow Lake-S form later this year. Intel has provided a sneak peek of the Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake-S” desktop CPUs, showcasing their monolithic design with multiple tiles including CPU, GPU, SoC, and I/O tiles. The processor will feature an 8+16 design with 8 performance cores based on the Lion Cove architecture and 16 efficiency cores based on Skymont architecture. Additionally, it will include 4 Crestmont-based low-power E-Cores in the Tile SoC and 2-4 Alchemist “Xe-LPG”-based integrated graphics Xe-Cores.

The Arrow Lake-S desktop processors will mark Intel’s first rebranded “Core Ultra 200 series” CPUs and will be accompanied by new 800 series motherboards led by the flagship Z890 chipset, featuring native Thunderbolt 4 support among other enhancements. The processors are expected to launch at Computex 2024.

Key features and specifications of the Intel Arrow Lake-S desktop CPUs include support for DDR5 memory, LGA 1851 socket longevity until 2026, DDR5-6400 memory support, increased PCIe Gen 5.0 lanes, 3 MB L2 cache per P core, iGPU Alchemist support, and 8+16 and 6+8 CPU SKUs. The processors are set to launch in the second half of 2024.

In summary, Intel has teased its upcoming Lunar Lake CPUs for mobile devices and confirmed the release of Arrow Lake CPUs for desktops and laptops in Q4 2024. The Arrow Lake-S desktop processors will feature an 8+16 design with a monolithic structure including CPU, GPU, SoC, and I/O tiles. These processors will be the first in Intel’s rebranded “Core Ultra 200 series” and will be accompanied by new 800 series motherboards with Thunderbolt 4 support. The Arrow Lake-S CPUs will support DDR5 memory, offer increased PCIe Gen 5.0 lanes, and are expected to launch in the second half of 2024.
