Intel Corporation has named Kenneth Tse as the new general manager of its Vietnam plant. Tse, a 28-year veteran of Intel, started as a process engineer in New Mexico and has held various management roles in the US and China before moving to Vietnam. He will be taking over from Kim Huat Ooi, who is retiring from Intel. Tse will be responsible for overseeing the factory’s operations, building relationships with local communities and governments, and collaborating with the local ecosystem.
Tse, who has been living in Vietnam for the past ten years, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. He expressed pride in his new role and highlighted the importance of Intel Vietnam within the global network of Intel’s factories. Tse emphasized the commitment to innovation and progress, with a focus on advancing Intel’s mission in Vietnam.
Intel Products Vietnam (IPV) is responsible for product testing and assembly, making it the largest factory of its kind within Intel’s system. IPV played a crucial role in manufacturing the 13th Gen Raptor Lake and Meteor Lake processors last year, accounting for over 50% of assembly and test production. Phung Viet Thang, country manager of Intel’s sales, marketing, and communications group, emphasized the value that IPV brings to Intel’s global supply chain.
Intel has been operating in Vietnam for 17 years, and the appointment of Kenneth Tse as the new general manager reflects the company’s commitment to the country’s technology landscape. Tse’s leadership is seen as vital in maintaining the momentum of Intel’s operations in Vietnam and driving progress towards the future of technology in the country.
