Intel has unveiled its new range of AI Ready processors for personal computers, promising a 50 percent increase in speed and an 80 percent reduction in power consumption compared to the previous generation. Codenamed Lunar Lake, the mobile processor is designed to provide AI performance for Copilot+ PCs powered by Microsoft. With over 40 tera operations per second (TOPS) neural processing units (NPUs) and more than 60 TOPS of graphics processing units (GPUs), Lunar Lake offers more than 100 platform TOPS. Microsoft’s vice president of Windows+ devices, Pavan Davuluri, expressed excitement about the launch of Lunar Lake and the improvements it will bring in terms of security, battery life, and more. Developed by Israeli architects and engineers from Intel’s development centers in Haifa and Petah Tikva, Lunar Lake is set to hit the market in time for the 2024 holiday season in the United States.
