Broadcom and Marvell Technology play into the artificial-intelligence craze through custom chips, known as application-specific integrated circuits, that they design alongside technology players like Google and Amazon. Intel is trying to get in on this business as well.
Intel is “building momentum in ASICs as customers seek purpose-built silicon for AI, networking [and] cloud workloads,” CEO Lip-Bu Tan said on the earnings call.
That business was up 50% in 2025 and ahead 26% on a sequential basis during the fourth quarter, when it reached a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate. “This strength provides our ASIC team a solid base” to get at what could be a $100 billion total addressable market for these types of chips.
