The students of Portsmouth West Primary School in West Portsmouth, Ohio were delighted to participate in a STEM camp hosted by Intel as a result of their enthusiastic support of a superload passing through Scioto County in March. Despite the gray and rainy weather, the students were filled with excitement and optimism for the future. The event showcased farm animals, agricultural equipment, and future technology all under one roof, providing hands-on STEAM activities for the kids.
Emily Smith, an Intel employee, expressed the company’s dedication to inspiring the innovation of the future by exposing children to various opportunities in the digital industry. The school’s initial display of community spirit caught Intel’s attention, leading to their offer to host the STEM camp. Fourth-grader Tice Lore was one of the students who cheered on the super load as it passed through, describing the experience as once-in-a-lifetime and exciting.
Along with Intel, other organizations such as the local 4H club, Huntington Bank, and Velvet Ice Cream were also present at the event, showcasing their support for the students and their interest in promoting education and innovation in the community. The event served as a testament to the power of community spirit and collaboration in inspiring the next generation of innovators and leaders in the digital world.
