Leave it to a Google phone boot to literally leak everything before that launch ever takes place. As if they haven’t spilled enough for us already Alone, retailers don’t seem to be stopping them from jumping the gun, as the availability of Pixel 6 is a huge part of the smartphone scene. Just last weekend Carphone Warehouse leaked full-blown landing pages for both phones that have fully unpacked functions on the devices and their software that Google wanted to safely save for Tuesday’s event.

This time around, it looks like Target is the culprit and the leak is likely another part of the Pixel 6 story that Google would have preferred to save for Tuesday: the prices. While there have been price leaks overseas, there has yet to be a real price leak in the US, and this one is pretty doozy. Discovered by a Twitter user and then confirmed by This is Tech Today’s Brandon Lee it looks like we now know the base prices for both handsets.

Here are the confirmed # Pixel6 and # Pixel6Pro prices on the Target inventory system in the US. Pixel 6: $ 599 Pixel 6 Pro: $ 898 Google is going to have to subsidize this phone like crazy. This is madness. #teampixel https://t.co/OUBl8cXCBh

As you can see from these tweets (the first is a target shelf, the second is a target inventory scanner), these are not speculative at all: they are legitimate. The base model of both phones start with 128GB of storage, which means we’re considering $ 599 and $ 898 for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, respectively. This is absolutely crazy!

We all expected something in the range of $ 700 for the Pixel 6 and over $ 1000 for the Pixel 6 Pro, and it looks like Google is ready to really play with prices well below that lie what we would expect for phones of this caliber. Given these kind of prices and chip shortages, if you would like to have one of these phones in the near future, I would recommend that you pre-order it right away. With these type of specs, type of build, and prices, I can’t imagine they won’t get reordered quickly. We hope that Google pushed for high stock numbers in preparation for launch. Can’t wait for Tuesday!
