Informatica strengthens integration with Microsoft, becoming one of the initial data management partners integrated as an Azure Native ISV Service on iTWire.

Informatica, a leader in enterprise cloud data management, announced new native integrations with Microsoft at the Informatica World event in Las Vegas. These integrations aim to simplify the discovery, management, and deployment of AI-powered data management services for Azure and Microsoft Fabric customers within Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud platform. The collaboration between the two companies is focused on driving customer success and delivering impactful business results.

One of the key integrations is the IDMC as a Service Azure native ISV, which allows Azure customers to easily access and deploy IDMC within the Azure Management Console. This integration enables users to run serverless IDMC data pipelines, eliminating the need to manage virtual machines and clusters manually. Additionally, customers can credit their IDMC service purchases against their Azure consumption commitments through the Azure Marketplace.

Another integration, Informatica Data Quality as a native Microsoft Fabric application, provides Fabric customers with AI-powered data quality and profiling services directly within the Fabric environment. This allows users to discover, clean, enrich, and resolve data quality issues within OneLake without leaving the Microsoft Fabric experience. The collaboration between Informatica and Microsoft in the past two years has resulted in deeper integrations to provide IDMC services such as integration, quality, profiling, and marketplace.

Furthermore, the Cloud Data Access Management (CDAM) for Azure enables enterprises to securely share and manage data access for authorized users while ensuring policy compliance and customer trust. Integrated into IDMC, CDAM provides automated control barriers to protect sensitive data and enforce access controls at a granular level.

The IDMC as an Azure-native ISV service is currently in public preview and expected to be generally available in the summer. Informatica Data Quality as a native Fabric application will also be in preview this summer, while CDAM for Azure is already generally available.

Informatica CEO, Amit Walia, highlighted the ongoing collaboration with Microsoft and the importance of high-quality, secure, and governed data for impactful generative AI. The partnership aims to provide an innovative and secure foundation for customers embarking on their AI journeys.

The collaboration with Informatica has been beneficial for companies like Sodexo, whose group digital data and technology director, Alicia Guehennec, emphasized the importance of managing trusted data for analysis on the Azure platform. The partnership with Informatica has helped address their enterprise data management challenges and drive robust analytics through Azure.

Overall, the partnership between Informatica and Microsoft aims to provide customers with seamless and integrated data management solutions to enhance their AI and analytics workloads. The focus on trusted, high-quality data is crucial for companies looking to leverage AI technologies for business growth and innovation.
