BENGALURU: 5000 youth from regions in Karnataka, Telangana and Delhi-NCR are now qualified in data science and cloud computing, of which over 2000 have been hired through a program run by IBM (NYSE: IBM) in partnership with NASSCOM Foundation India’s Youth make it fit for the future.
As part of IBMs SkillsBuild Career Readiness program, IBM and the NASSCOM Foundation worked with 23 colleges to certify enrolled students for IBM-certified courses on emerging technologies such as data science and cloud computing in 2019. This unique program engaged students with a 250-hour mixed training model on campus that uses online and face-to-face training to develop first-year skills in new age technologies such as data science and cloud computing.
Due to the 2020 pandemic, the program became a fully online mode for education and learning. Students from 23 Tier 2 and Tier 3 non-technical institutions were trained by partners TMI and iPrimed.
