Indiana Attorney General shares how to access funds in ~M Google settlement

INDIANA (WPTA) – Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita shared information Monday to help eligible Hoosiers start the process to receive their share of a multi-million dollar Google settlement.

Rokita and several other attorneys general reached a $700 million national settlement with Google in 2023 over the tech giant’s alleged anticompetitive conduct with the Google Play Store. The lawsuit alleged that Google unlawfully monopolized the markets for Android app distribution and in-app payment processing.

$630 million has already been added to a settlement fund, and about $10.5 million is expected to be paid out to eligible Indiana residents. The State itself will also receive about $1.4 million in penalties paid by Google, Rokita says.

If the settlement is approved, those who are eligible for restitution should automatically receive their payment and do not need to submit a claim, Rokita says.
