India asks university to walk out of AI summit after showcasing Chinese robot as its own

An Indian university has been asked to vacate its booth at the country’s flagship AI summit after an employee was caught presenting a commercially available robot dog made in China as his own creation, two government sources said.

“You need to know Orion. This was ‘developed’ by Galgotias University’s Center of Excellence,” Neha Singh, professor of communications, told the state broadcaster DD News this week in remarks that have since gone viral.
