IBM’s Premium Chick Feeds

PCF, a prominent poultry farming company in India, was facing the challenge of maintaining and expanding its value chain framework across a network of 15,000 contract farms in various states. Their existing IT system was not fully integrated, leading to inefficiencies in their feed planning solution and distribution of poultry vaccines.

To address these issues and achieve their goal of becoming one of the top three breeders, hatcheries, and retailers in India, PCF sought a robust business solution to streamline and standardize its processes. This included redesigning the distribution network to ensure efficient distribution of feed, medicines, and vaccines to all poultry farms from feed factories in the country.

Automation of the live bird dispatch process was identified as a critical need, as it would enable easy calculation of sales by recording the “catch weight” of the birds shipped. Real-time analysis of poultry stock and sales demand reports would provide PCF with valuable insights to make informed decisions about livestock movement.

By implementing a solution that would provide consistent data availability and create a user-friendly interface for employees and customers, PCF aimed to enhance its operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. With these improvements, the company was poised to strengthen its position in the poultry farming industry in India.
