IBM has opened the GenAI Innovation Center in Kochi, a collaboration with Red Hat, where enterprises, startups, and partners can develop generative AI technology. The center is based on InstructLab, a new technology that enhances large language models with client data and utilizes IBM’s Watsonx data and AI platform. Clients can learn about fine-tuning LLMs and partner with IBM to deploy their own models for specific business needs.
Dinesh Nirmal, senior vice president of products at IBM Software, highlighted the company’s commitment to AI and collaboration with different ecosystems. The GenAI Innovation Center aims to support India’s AI community, drive innovation, develop AI-skilled talent, enhance productivity, and improve citizen services.
As organizations transition from AI experimentation to implementation and scaling, they face challenges integrating AI projects due to limited skills. The center will provide access to IBM experts and technologies to help organizations build, scale, and accelerate enterprise-grade AI adoption.
Located within the IBM India Software Lab in Kochi and managed by IBM technical experts, the center will focus on generative AI technology, LLMs, case studies, and fostering a community dedicated to using AI to address societal and business challenges like sustainability, public infrastructure, healthcare, education, and inclusion.
