IBM secures $279 million USCIS application development contract

IBM has secured a five-year, $279 million task order from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency to develop and maintain applications for the USCIS verification information system, including E-Verify. This system is used by employers to verify individuals’ eligibility to work in the U.S. and by agencies to verify immigration status for benefit applications. The order, known as FALCON, was granted on Thursday after receiving seven bids from contract holders with Multiple Award Programs.

The Fast and agile lifecycle for continuous verification, operations, and NextGen program covers systems support, operations, maintenance, and software delivery services to enhance the USCIS verification information system. IBM will be standardizing large-scale web applications and IT assets in an Amazon Web Services cloud environment. They will also provide specialized teams in DevSecOps software practices.
