IBM Publishes 2023 Impact Report



IBM recently released its 2023 impact report, showcasing the company’s commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives. The report highlights key achievements, including the launch of watsonx.governance to promote responsible AI workflows and the training of over 600 technology suppliers in ethics. IBM has also engaged over 11 million learners with free training content and invested $100 million in apprenticeship programs.

Moreover, the company has made significant strides in reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions by 68.5% compared to 2010 levels, surpassing its 2025 target. IBM has completed 2,130 energy conservation projects, avoiding an estimated energy consumption of 256,000 MWh since 2021. Justina Nixon-Saintil, IBM’s vice president and chief impact officer, emphasized the role of technology in addressing new ethical, social, and environmental challenges.
