IBM has recently announced the opening of its GenAI Innovation Center in Kochi, which will serve as a hub for enterprises, startups, and partners to develop and innovate with generative AI. This center, located within the IBM India Software Lab, will provide access to IBM’s experts and technologies to drive the adoption of enterprise-grade AI solutions.
With a focus on leveraging generative AI technology, extensive language models (LLMs), and real-world case studies, the center aims to address various societal and business challenges such as sustainability, public infrastructure, health, education, and inclusion. Dinesh Nirmal, Senior Vice President, Product, IBM Software, emphasized IBM’s commitment to collaborating with different AI ecosystems and fostering India’s AI community through innovation and co-creation.
The center is built on InstructLab, a new technology developed by IBM and Red Hat to enhance LLMs with clients’ data. Additionally, it will leverage IBM Watsonx data and AI platform, as well as AI assistant technologies, to help clients fine-tune their models and deploy them for business use cases. IBM recently partnered with HCLTech to establish a Generative AI Center of Excellence (Gen AI CoE) based on IBM’s generative AI services and Watsonx platform. The collaboration aims to train 10,000 engineers and architects on IBM’s innovative AI technologies.
